Summit to Sea, 2011 Spring

On June 27, 2011, with the support of Himalayan Trail Blazer, adventurers Mr. Lhakpa Tshiri Sherpa and Mr. Sanu Babu Sunuwar successfully completed “Summit to Sea”—a three-month expedition from the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest, to the Indian Ocean.

After reaching the summit of Mount Everest on May 21, 2011, the duo set a Free Flight World Altitude Record by launching a tandem paraglider directly from the peak, also known as the “roof of the world.” From there, they continued their journey, making their way by air, land, and water until they reached the sea.

Himalayan Trail Blazer provided full expedition support for the Everest climb via the South Col route, making the ambitious Summit to Sea journey possible for Mr. Lhakpa Tshiri Sherpa and Mr. Sanu Babu Sunuwar.
